פרופסור ארזה צ'רצ'מן ופרופסור אראל מרגלית מצטרפים למרצים במסלול לקיימות מקומית בבית הספר ללימודי הסביבה ע"ש פורטר.
סימסטר האביב נפתח עם שני קורסים חדשים במסלול:
ערים ידידותיות לילדים, פרופסור ארזה צ'רצ'מן. הקורס מתקיים במסגרת תכנית רשתות הידע Urban95 בהובלת הקליניקה האורבנית באוניברסיטה העברית, בתמיכת ובשיתוף קרן ברנרד ון ליר, כחלק מאסטרטגיית Urban95 העולמית המבקשת לקדם תכנון, עיצוב וניהול של ערים תוססות ובריאות הנותנות מענה לצורכיהם של ילדים צעירים ומשפחותיהם.
תחבורה עירונית מקיימת - אתגרים והזדמנויות, פרופסור אראל אבינרי. הקורס יעסוק בהיבטים מתקדמים של תחבורה והחיבור בין תחבורה מקיימת וערים חכמות.

From Rooftops to Brownfields: Siting opportunities and challenges for solar photovoltaics in the U.S. built environment. Up to 40 percent of America’s power needs could be met by rooftop photovoltaics, according to the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Industrial “brownfield” sites could host enough photovoltaics to meet three times America’s electricity demand.
As he researched his book, Harness the Sun: America’s Quest for a Solar-Powered Future, Philip Warburg interviewed dozens of policymakers, planners, entrepreneurs and community activists who are finding ways to tap some of these opportunities. He will present for discussion a number of case studies that reflect the challenges in moving these initiatives forward.
Philip Warburg’s environmental advocacy career has spanned three continents. After leading environmental law reform efforts in Central and Eastern Europe for the Washington-based Environmental Law Institute, he moved to Israel in 1994. In the decade that followed, he assisted the Palestinian Authority in drafting its first environmental laws, coordinated the Government of Jordan’s efforts to protect the Gulf of Aqaba, and served as executive director of Adam Teva v’Din – the Israel Union for Environmental Defense. In 2003, he returned to theU.S. to serve as president of New England’s oldest and largest environmental advocacy group, the Conservation Law Foundation. Since 2009 he has devoted himself to writing and speaking about renewable energy. His first book, Harvest the Wind: America’s Journey to Jobs, EnergyIndependence, and Climate Stability, was published in 2012.
